Why we are here a lot
Merivale Road is one of the densest retail strips in Ottawa, and a lot of our calls come from its plazas and parking lots: dead batteries in the winter, flat tires from curbs, and shoppers who locked the keys in the car with the engine running.
The other recurring call is the Highway 416 corridor. It is fast, it is exposed, and in bad weather the shoulders collect vehicles. We are set up for highway work and we know which exits give us the quickest access.
Winter in Nepean
The residential streets around Craig Henry, Arlington Woods and Centrepointe are quiet and tree-lined, which is lovely in summer and a problem in February. Narrow ploughed streets plus street parking means vehicles get wedged in, and driveways on a slope become impossible once they ice over.
Winch-outs from driveways and snowbanks are routine work for us through the winter. Often the vehicle is undamaged and drives perfectly once it is back on cleared pavement, so a winch-out does the job instead of a full tow, which costs you less.
