It happens, and more often than people admit. A gauge that reads low longer than you expected, a detour, a closed station. Running out is not a breakdown, and it should not cost you a tow.

What we bring

Enough fuel to get you comfortably to a station, rather than filling your tank at the roadside. That is faster and cheaper for you: pump prices are lower than anything delivered in a can.

Tell us whether the vehicle takes gasoline or diesel when you call. If you are not sure, the inside of the fuel door or the owner’s manual says.

If the car will not start after refuelling

Some vehicles, especially diesels, need the fuel system primed after running completely dry, and it can take a few tries. If it still will not start, something else may be wrong, and we can tow it to a shop.

Put the wrong fuel in?

Do not start the engine, and if it is already running, turn it off as soon as it is safe. Running the wrong fuel through the system is what turns this into a major repair.

This is a towing job, not a fuel delivery: the tank needs draining and the system flushing at a shop. Call us and we will tow it.

While you wait

Pull as far off the road as you can and put your hazards on. If you are on a highway, get out on the side away from traffic and wait behind the guardrail. Do not walk along the shoulder to a station.
