A motorcycle is easy to damage and hard to secure if you do not do it often. Towing one properly means a flatbed, soft straps in the right places and a rider who can tell us how the bike is.
How we load and secure a bike
The deck tilts down and the bike is rolled or winched on, then stood upright in place. Soft tie-downs go on solid frame points, the lower triple clamp or the handlebars where the bike allows, pulling it gently down onto its suspension so it cannot rock or tip.
Nothing goes over the tank, the fairings or the levers, and no chain touches the bike. If it is on its side or cannot roll, we winch it on carefully and secure it as it is.

What we move
Sport bikes, cruisers, touring bikes, dual-sports, scooters and mopeds. Breakdowns at the roadside, bikes that will not start after the winter, bikes going to the shop for service, and bikes that need to move house.
Heavier touring bikes and trikes are fine too. Tell us what it is when you call.
After a crash
Look after yourself first. Call 911 if anyone is hurt. Once the scene is handled, we take the bike wherever you or your insurer want it, and we will be careful with bent parts and loose bodywork. See accident recovery.
Seasonal moves
Taking the bike to storage in the fall or back to the shop in the spring? That is a job you can book ahead, which usually means a better time and a better price. For longer trips see long-distance towing.
Tell us these when you call
- The bike: year, make, model and roughly how heavy
- Whether it rolls, and whether you have the key
- Whether it is upright or on its side
- Pickup and drop-off addresses
Questions about motorcycle towing
Will the straps scratch my bike?
No. We use soft tie-downs on solid points and keep everything off the tank, the fairings and the paint.
Can you tow a bike that will not roll?
Yes. We winch it onto the deck. Mention it when you call so we plan for it.
Can I ride along in the truck?
Often, yes. Ask when you call.
Do you move bikes for storage?
Yes. Book ahead and we will pick a time that suits you.
